Feature Update: Bluestem Authentication Working Again

Latest Update to RED 8/6/19 Heading link

With the latest update to RED, 8/6/19, the RED developers have disabled the W3 Total Cache plugin so that Bluestem Authentication will work again when securing content on pages.

The Bluestem Authentication feature allows users to make the content of specific pages (excluding the homepage) private unless a visitor logs in via their UIC NetID and password.  Just FYI, at this time this restriction cannot be put in place to allow only specific UIC NetIDs; anyone with a UIC NetID can access the Bluestem restricted content if they login.

The Bluestem Authentication capability is enabled on a site by site basis.  If you want to have this capability added to your site, please reach out to the RED team via our webform and select “ask something else”.   Then provide your username, site name, and that you desire to have the Bluestem Authentication enabled for your site.

Happy Editing!
