15. How Do I Launch My Site?

Steps to launching your site

When you have designed and set the proper site hierarchy, reviewed UIC’s web Policy and Theme Guidelines, and received permission from your respective College or Office, use the Red contact form to request a test site launch:

Select “launch my test site” from the options
Fill out the web-form requesting security information

After you submit the form, the Red team will conduct a review of your test site, making sure it complies all usability, accessibility and navigation requirements. You may be asked to make certain changes to your site prior to launch.

Once approved, the Red team will assign the request to Technology Solutions to install a security certificate as well as edit/create a CNAME for your site. This part of the process may take 7-10 days.

Finally, the “red” will be removed from the URL and you will then be notified that your site is live for the world to see!

Be assured that you can still edit/change/improve your site after it is live, but be aware that once you hit “update” or “publish,” those pages are live to the public.
